Day 38
Jackson looves watching other kids- especially older ones. We had a great time at the park with our adorable and super sweet neighbors!
Day 39
This was taken yesterday and I really love it. Unfortunately, I have no idea what exactly I 'did' or why I like it so much, but I sure do. The sharpness isn't what I'd like and the lighting was awful- but I think it's beautiful in black and white. . .I even went an extra step in editing and used Coffee Shop's Portrait Perfect 2 and tried to use the dodge/burn to lighten the shadow on the left side of his face and chin. . .should I have done a little more?
Day 40
After one nice day (see photo above) it's been back to cold and crummy. Jackson and I escaped to the library this morning. He had a total meltdown in the travel section as I tried to pick up some trip planning books for spring break (super excited to see Paris, France; Brogues, Belgium; and Amsterdam, Netherlands) but was a pretty happy camper when I showed him the bins of board books :)
My goal for this weekend: A good picture of Jackson smiling per my sister's request. . .the only problem is when he is smiling/laughing he sure isn't sitting still! :) Ideas?

Very cute photos! I like the black and white one. Tha last picture of him melts my heart. So sweet! What a fun spring break trip!!!
I like all three for various reasons. I like the feelings you captured in the first. The second is a sweet one but the last one is perfect. You nailed his eyes and it's perfectly edited as well!

That swing is cool. I love the last one and his eyes.
Those are all great! Love the last one. He has the cutest little face.
They are all so good Love the B+W and that last one - OH MY!! :o)
LOVE the last 3 shots.
My trick I teach in my workshops, is to get them to say "y" ending words. Mommy, funny, daddy, monkey....etc.
I like the swing! Have a great weekend!
More gorgeous pictures of those baby blues!
I really like the b&w, and think you did a great job with the edit - you wouldn't have guessed there was poor lighting.
What a cool trip you have planned! Can't wait to see those pictures!
Those eyes are gorgeous!
Great photos. LOVE the last one, his eyes are amazing. That swing looks so fun!
Look at those big, blue eyes! Just beautiful!
I love that last photo! You need to keep your shutter speed high (1/250 and above) and even put your camera on taking 3 or more shots at a time (burst) if possible to get those quick smiles!
I really love the first photo, it's so fun! I am no pro but I think you can capture that smile if you increase your shutter speed. You can also shoot it outdoors, in broad daylight so it doesn't come out dark and grainy. :)
I love your B&W converstion too. It did a great job with the dodge/burn, I wouldn't do anymore. Shadows give him some depth so you don't want to eliminate them all. :)
That last one is just STUNNGING!!! Beautiful, I just love it.
Definitely keep your SS on 1/250 to get those quick shots. Sometimes I put out toys I know my daughter will get excited about, get my setting where I want them and let her go. Then I just shoot shoot shoot and hope that I get that smile. haha I totally understand how hard it is to get those quick smiles. :)
Beautiful beautiful... you capture your children so wonderfully.
Love the last one. So adorable!
These are gorgeous! I love the b&w - so sweet. And that last shot is just precious. He's such a cutie!!
